Despite several natural disasters experienced in 2014 alone, biometric voter registration continues and registration numbers in Solomon Islands continue to rise.
A quarter of a million Solomon Islanders have registered in country-wide voter registration centres so far for what will be an election at the tail end of 2014.
ESI has been in Honiara for the duration of the project that began in October 2013 and should be completed in June 2014.
The Solomon Islands government and Solomon Islands Electoral Commission, with ESI’s help, continue to support this endeavor as an important step in maintaining the population’s confidence in the democratic process in the Sols.
