Seasons Greetings and Salutations!
That’s another year in the books, as they say, here at Electoral Services International Inc. 2018 has come and gone. ESI is optimistic and enthusiastic as we look ahead at the prospects of 2019.
2018 was ESI’s first full year in our new office location. As a team, we are more technologically efficient than ever before. Working while mobile and working flexible hours have never been more important. As a reminder, ESI’s corporate headquarters is still in Ottawa Ontario, Canada’s capital city.
Members of the ESI workforce traveled the globe once again in 2018. Our safe travels brought us to Africa, Europe, the South Pacific, and the United States of America. A highlight from the past twelve months was ESI’s Senior Project Manager having the opportunity to present our Biometric Voter Registration (BVR) solution in Tbilisi, Georgia to various election stakeholders and international observers.
Another highlight from 2018 was ESI’s opportunity to return to Solomon Islands to assist the SIEC with their BVR update in preparation of their 2019 National General Election. The ESI BVR team was onsite in Honiara for months working with the SIEC on their BVR software and network thus having a role in assisting to strengthen the electoral cycle in general. ESI was in-country offering support for voter registration, matching, adjudication, and for general troubleshooting assistance. More registrations were recorded than originally anticipated and, of course, multiple registrations by the same people were detected. As has always been the case with ESI’s BVR exercises, each registered voter’s name will appear on the final electors list only once.
ESI not only traveled the globe in 2018, but we also delivered our products and services around the world once again. ESI fulfilled orders several times over to Africa, the Caribbean, Europe, and the South Pacific. Product deliveries (used for elections and referendums) included ballot boxes (with lids), ballot box seals and clips, indelible ink (in bottle and marker pen form), ballots/ballot paper, and voting screens/booths. Our service deliverables included logistics management and transportation, BVR services, and support contracts. ESI was also pleased to extend a Long-Term Agreement (LTA) in 2018.
In November, ESI sent indelible ink marker pens to a food bank in California. These pens were successfully used to ensure that every family in need received a turkey for Thanksgiving.
ESI remains thankful for its employees, customers, suppliers, agents and partners. The word ‘friends’ can (and often is) used interchangeably for all of these. ESI appreciates its growing relationship network. Thank you for your support and your trust. We will continue to forge ahead and Deliver The Vote.
From ESI to you and your loved ones: Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays and Happy New Year!
Sincerely,
The Electoral Services International Inc. Management Team
