General elections were held in Saint Lucia on December 1, 2025, to elect all 17 members of the House of Assembly and to decide the country’s leadership for the next 5 years.
The Prime Minister announced the elections formally on November 9, 2025, nomination day was November 21, 2025, and Election Day, as previously stated, was on December 1, 2025.
44 candidates ran in this election and there were over 180,000 registered voters.
Campaigning focused on issues such as economic growth, youth opportunities, crime, health care and infrastructure development.
The Caribbean Community (CARICOM) sent an 11-member Election Observation Mission (CEOM) to St Lucia to observe the democratic endeavor. The CEOM determined that voters were able to exercise their rights in a peaceful, orderly and transparent manner. The CEOM went on to state “polling day workers performed their duties professionally and are commended for their dedication. The police force maintained law and order, exhibiting high professionalism in their interaction with electors and stakeholders”.
Electoral Services International (ESI) supplied election materials to the Saint Lucia Electoral Department for their general elections. We thank the team in Castries for their trust and support.
